April holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bethune-Cookman College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Beyond her corporate accomplishments, she is deeply committed to philanthropy and community leadership, evidenced by her longstanding involvement in nonprofit organizations and professional associations.

April’s professional background underscores her expertise in regulatory compliance, customer service, and team training. As an Appeals Representative and Provider Service Advocate, she thoroughly analyzed and resolved Medicare appeal inquiries, ensuring swift and compliant claim resolutions. Transitioning into the role of Card Services & Financial Services Representative, she managed daily operations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance in high-volume financial institutions. Later, in her position as a Senior Financial Aid Advisor and Mentor, April trained new financial counselors on Title IV regulations, coordinated direct billing programs, and optimized collection activities for the University of Phoenix—further exemplifying her commitment to excellence and leadership across diverse financial environments. In each of these roles, April demonstrated her commitment to clear, persuasive communication and a leadership style that fosters collaboration and continuous improvement.

Community & Organizational Leadership

In the Jacksonville Chartered Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., April has held various leadership positions that demonstrate her commitment to service and organizational excellence. From 2016 to 2019, she served as Committee Chair for Projects & International Awareness & Involvement, overseeing initiatives that promoted global engagement and community outreach. She then transitioned to the role of Internal Audit Chair from 2019 to 2021, leveraging her analytical skills to ensure transparent and efficient operations. In 2022, she contributed as the chapter’s Journalist, documenting and sharing chapter achievements. 

Through her extensive work with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, April has led large-scale service projects, mentored emerging leaders, and facilitated strategic planning sessions that broaden the chapter’s impact.

 

Additional Public Speaking & Community Engagement

In addition to her professional roles, April actively engages in public speaking and community initiatives that underscore her strengths in leadership, consulting, and training. Since 2017, she has served as a Paparazzi Accessories Trainer with $5 Bling Bosses (DBA), where she develops and delivers sales and marketing trainings for independent consultants, emphasizing revenue growth and team-building best practices. She further demonstrates her commitment to impactful community leadership through her involvement with the Liam Lives Foundation, Inc., presenting at board retreats and CBV Cares sessions while serving as Treasurer. In these capacities, April provides high-impact coaching on financial strategy, organizational development, and effective communication for nonprofits and small businesses alike, ensuring sustainable growth and lasting impact.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, April has also held numerous leadership roles and garnered significant recognition through her community involvement. As a Committee Chair in the Junior League of Jacksonville (2013), she led the transformation of the Jacksonville Public Library into a festive holiday experience—an achievement that earned her the Junior League’s First Year Active of the Year Award. She has been an active member of the Bethune Cookman University Alumni Association since 2003, receiving the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award for her career success and dedication to community service. Since 2016, April has served as Treasurer of the Liam Lives Foundation, Inc., managing financial operations, fundraising, and regulatory compliance. Her remarkable contributions have further been acknowledged with a Paparazzi Accessories Fashionista Elite Award (Top 0.01%), underscoring her multifaceted impact across both professional and philanthropic endeavors.
